Jenny Middleton Iverstine + Bleu Boy
“Clean hands every wash!” was my focus in creating Circles + Scissors Handwashing. With toddler booger fingers everywhere, our family was trying to find the best way to remember proper hand hygiene and Happy Birthday for 20 seconds just wasn’t cutting it.
After washing in our home with Circles + Scissors for over 6 years, it was time to share this good, clean fun. I created a curriculum and started teaching in schools in 2018. Teachers and students loved it and I loved teaching it!
With a new GOAL of ONE MILLION pairs of clean hands, I knew that I had to do more than teach in schools. After listening to parents and teachers, their request was loud and clear, “Please make a book!”
With a mountain of passion, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work! My hobby of paper-cutting cards became my medium for illustrating. The story-line for the Circles + Scissors book is a real-life event about my daughter missing her bff’s birthday party due to illness.
17 months later, the Circles + Scissors Handwashing board book was born! I truly believe that this is the best resource for teaching the Circles + Scissors method quickly and it’s FUN!
This handwashing movement is just getting started, though it's already in 40+ US states and 7+ countries!
