3 REASONS KIDS LOVE
Circles + Scissors Handwashing!
1. Checklist to Success
Each of the 5 Steps of Circles + Scissors cues the washer on a specific area of the hand.
Children want to wash the right way but are often disappointed when an adult tells them to wash again.
Offering children a simple checklist to wash hands by, gives them the confidence to know their hands are clean and builds independent hand washers for a lifetime.
2. Kid-friendly DESIGN
Circles + Scissors images are made with non-readers in mind!
Most beginning handwashers are non-readers. All designs are cut from paper, giving them a playful look that children can easily identify!
Simple symbols and colors cue children towards proper handwashing technique. And you guessed it, the Circles + Scissors logo is made to look like "Hugs + Kisses."
3. Fun in the PROCESS
Circles + Scissors curriculum presents handwashing in a positive way!
No more boring handwashing videos! The most effective way to motivate kids to wash up is with fun! Fear of germs and sickness will only motivate children for as long as they feel scared.
Positive language engages them to, "Have more fun...wash your hands!" Circles + Scissors explains to children that when they have clean hands and remain healthy, they get to do the things they love. This is the best motivator.
Clean hands means more fun!

With toddler booger fingers everywhere, and a new born baby boy, our family was trying to find the best way to remember proper hand hygiene. Happy Birthday for 20 seconds just wasn’t cutting it! Clean hands every wash and NOT BORING was my goal in creating Circles + Scissors Handwashing for my own children.
After washing in our home with Circles + Scissors for over 6 years, it was time to share this good, clean fun. In 2018, I gathered up my camp couselor fun and enthusiasm and began teaching the method in schools. Teachers and students loved Circles + Scissors and I had a blast teaching!
With a new GOAL of ONE MILLION pairs of clean hands, I knew that I had to do more than teach in schools. After listening to parents and teachers, their request was loud and clear, “Please make a book!”
With a mountain of passion, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work! My hobby of paper-cutting cards became my medium for illustrating. The story-line for the Circles + Scissors book is a real-life event about my daughter missing her bff’s birthday party due to illness.
17 months later, the Circles + Scissors Handwashing board book was born! I truly believe that the book is the best resource for teaching the Circles + Scissors method quickly and it’s FUN!
